At the end of July 2026, almost 95 thousand cars were imported to Russia - both new and used. This is the maximum result for one month this year, experts of the AUTOSTAT agency reported with reference to the data of SPC JSC* during the online broadcast of AUTOSTAT Operative.

Imports of new cars in the second summer month amounted to 44.4 thousand units, which is 57% higher than the level of July last year. The most "imported" brand this time was the Chinese Changan, and the Geely Cityray crossover is the leader among the models.

In July, 50.5 thousand used cars were imported to our country, which is 7% more than a year ago. In the structure of imports in this segment, Japanese brands and models are still in the lead. In the middle of summer, these were Toyota and its Corolla model.

New cars are still most often brought from China. The share of this country in July reached 73.6%. Dmitry Yarygin, Deputy Head of the Analytics Department of the AUTOSTAT agency, notes that not only local brands are imported from China, but also European ones, the production of which is established in China, such as Audi, Skoda, Volkswagen, etc.

As for used cars, most of them are traditionally imported from Japan, whose share in July was 59.5%. The top three countries also included China (24%) and South Korea (7.6%).
